1 Saturday, May 18, 1996 Casper Star-Tribune B3 Obituaries The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday at Worden Chapel. Mr. Perino died unexpectedly on May 16, 1996, at his home of natural causes. He was born Nov.

25, 1906, in Butte, Mont, the son of Matt and Rosi (Monti) Perino. The family moved to Cambria, where he attended first grade He attended country schools while growing up on the family ranch in Weston County and loved to hunt and trap. He won many of the local turkey shoots in his youth. In those early days, horses were the main mode of transportation. Everyone who rode with him remembers his large roweled spurs.

On Jan. 1, 1936, he married Lina Hathaway. The couple lived on the ranch while Mrs. Perino taught at the Horton School. In 1948, they went into partnership with Mr Perino's sister, Dena Kudlock, and her husband and purchased a ranch near Belle Fourche, S.D.

Two years later, they moved to the South Dakota ranch where they lived until 1954. Following their move to Newcastle, he was employed at Craig Chevrolet for sue years. He then entered into a ranch partnership with his brother on Oil Creek near Newcastle from 1959 to 1967. At that time, he was employed by Newcastle High School until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church.

Survivors are his wife, Lina; two brothers, Leo and Fred Perino and one sister, Dora Tavegie, all of Newcastle and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were one brother and two sisters. A memorial has been established to Corpus Christi Church. degree from the University of South Dakota, both in Vermillion, S.D. She also attended library school at the University of Illinois in Urbana.

She married Robert G. Fisher in Vermillion on June 8, 1937, and they made their home on a farm south of Wessington, S.D. She taught in various schools in South Dakota for a number of years. She was an active member of the United Presbyterian Church in Wessington, where she was involved with Sunday School and the United Presbyterian Women. She also participated in a number of local organizations.

In 1974, they moved to Wheatland to be near their daughter. While in Wheatland, she participated in the Senior Center and the Kitchen Band. She was a very active, as well as a charter member, of Covenant Lutheran Church. In December 1990, she moved to the Platte County Memorial Nursing Home where she resided until her death. Survivors include her daughter, Annette Helgelien of Wheatland, a son-in-law, two grandchildren and 12 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert G. Fisher on July 31, 1991 three sisters, Lilly Hansen, Abbie Turner and Gladys Sanders; four brothers, Willard, Ernest, Theodore and Oliver Hansen and a nephew. Memorials to Covenant Lutheran Church, 19th and South Road, Wheatland 82201 or to the Platte County Memorial Nursing Home, 201 14th Wheatland 82201 would be appreciated by the family. The Platte Funeral Chapel of Wheatland is in charge of the arrangements. be held on Sunday at 7 p.m.

at the Hoopes Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. John Savio officiating. Mr. Lasnetske died on May 14, 1996, at the Morning Star Nursing Home in PL Washakie. He was born Sept.

8, 1914, in Tracy, to Jay and Julia Rosambo Lunetske, He worked at various jobs and then retired and worked nianv years with U.S. Steel. Survivors include his niece, Louise Vossberg; a brother, Tom Lasnetske and a sister, Mary Dressen, all of Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Tracy, Minn.

Memorials may be made to the Lander Senior Citizens Center in care of the Hoopes Funeral Home. Gladys Syrie Alexander LANDER Services for Gladys Syrie Alexander, 92, will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Hoopes Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Lane of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs.

Alexander died May 16, 1996, at the Lander Valley Medical Center. She was born June 14, 1903, to Thomas and Cloyie Dodge Syrie in Woodward County, Woodward, Okla. She attended school in Mill Creek and Lander. On Feb. 3, 1920, she married Morris Alexander.

In 1927, the couple bought the John Campbell Ranch on East Fork. The area was known as "Little Scotland." They ran hereford cattle, put up hay, milked cows and homesteaded other properties. She worked long, hard hours but she still insisted on a clean home and she instilled truth and honesty in her children. The couple semi-retired to Riverton in 1964 but still kept their mountain cabin and spent summers there, building fence and running cows. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1970.

Mrs. Alexander continued to live in her home until she fell and spent eight months in a nursing home. She resided at the Showboat Retirement Center at the time of her death. Survivors include her daughter, Marie Campbell, her best friend, Clyde Rood and a daughter-in-law, Charlotte Alexander, all of Lander; four grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son.

Memorials may be made to the Methodist Church or to the Luidsr Senior Citizen Center in care of the Hoopes Funeral Home. James 'Jim' Grant Knifong THERMOPOUS Funeral services for James "Jim" Grant Knifong, 55, will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Thermopolis with Pastor Harvey Seidel officiating. Burial will follow at Monument Hill cemetery. Mr.

Knifong died May lfi, 1996, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital in Thermopolis after a two-year battle with cancer. He was born April 21, 1941, in Grants Pass, the son of Ora L. and Dorothy (Grant) Knifong. He was raised in Adin and Paradise, where he graduated from high school in 1959. On June 4, 1960, he married Pauline Kurtze in Paradise, and they had three children.

Mr. Knifong attended San Jose Bible College and the College of the Siskiyous in California. For several years, he worked with gold mining and dredging companies in California. He later worked on a ranch and also with freeway construction in the Etna, area. He owned and operated the James C.

Knifong Contractors Company at Grants Pass for five years. On July 2, 1983, he married Gina Mead at Lake Tahoe, Nev. In 1986, they established Contractors, specializing in heavy equipment and road construction. They moved to Wyoming in 1988, residing in Owl Creek, west of Thermopolis. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Thermopolis.

His hobbies included elk hunting, wildlife photography and collecting cast iron toys. Survivors include his wife; mother, Dorothy Knifong of Granite Bay, son, Steven Grant Knifong of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; daughters Valerie Lynn Fain of Grants Pass, and Stephanie Knifong-Ryan of Portland, stepson Jerk Brotherston of Thermopolis, stepdaughter Kellee Ryken of Worland; brothers Lester of Paradise, and Donald, Granite Bay; sisters Barbara Widger, Fresno, and Dora Peck, Tehama, and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline; father, Ora; sister, Shirley Knifong; grandparents O.D. and Stella Knifong and grandmother Lura Reasoner.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Thermopolis. Mortimore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Linda M. Zullig SHERIDAN Memorial services will be held at a later date in Casper for Linda M. Zullig, 47, who died May 16, 1996, at her home south of Sheridan after a long illness.

She was born April 1, 1949, in Lander, the daughter of Robert and Shirley (Jensen) Tresler. She grew up and attended schools in Douglas and Casper and married John Zullig in Casper on Sept. 3, 1966, in Casper. She moved to Sheridan in 1969. She had been a Cub Scout leader and worked in 4-H with her children.

She was a very talented person and was especially noted for her artwork and crafts. She had a kind heart and was good to everyone. She was always willing to help, no matter what the problem. She was a member of the Big Horn Historical Society. Survivors include her husband of Sheridan; a son, John Zullig Jr.

of Gillette; a daughter, Tina Korb of Gillette; her father and stepmother, Robert and Patt Tresler of Casper; a brother, Roger Tresler of Auburn, a stepsister, Lois M. Wagner of Casper, two stepbrothers, James S. Newton and Robert Newton, both of Garden Grove, and two grandchildren. Arrangements are with Ferries Funeral Home. Memorials may benefit the Big Horn Historical Society Building Fund, in care of Delphine Toner, First Interstate Bank, Sheridan 82801.

Hallie Maurie Grant GREELEY, Colo. Funeral services for Hallie Maurie Grant, 19, will be held at the Greeley Christian Church on Monday at 2 p.m. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

and on Monday from 8 a.m. until noon at Allnut Funeral Service Macy Chapel in Greeley. Hallie died at her home in Greeley on May 16, 1996, after a lengthy illness. She was born Oct. 21, 1976, in Casper, the daughter of Michael D.

Grant and Betty J. Tucker Grant. She worked at Vector Sports, which made motorcycle helmets. She attended Greeley West High School and moved to Greeley from Ft. Collins, in 1991.

Through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, she met Garth Brooks. She raised cockatiels, had a hedgehog and loved all animals. She volunteered with the handicapped kids at school. She was baptized at Greeley Christian Church, where she was a member. Survivors include her parents of Greeley; her brother, T.J.

"Drew" Grant of Greeley; grandparents Ronald and Delores Grant of Ft Collins and Drew and Debi Tucker of Casper; her godmother, Laurie Magnuson of Greeley; a special friend, Mickie Daniels of Greeley and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Owen Todd Oneida Albert H. Heiser She was preceded in death by her godfather Richard Lee Harris, a grandmother, Hallie Tucker and an uncle. Memorials may be made to the Hallie Grant Memorial Fund in care of the Macy Chapel, 702 13th Greeley, Colo. 80631.

LeRoy 'Grease Spot' Griswold FT. WASHAKIE Funeral services for LeRoy "Grease Spot" Griswold, 71, will be held on Tuesday at the Big Wind Hall in Crowheart. Visitation will be held on Monday at the Hoopes Funeral Home in Lander and on Tuesday at the Big Wind Hall from noon until the time of services. Burial will be in the Burris Cemetery with full military rites. Mr.

Griswold died May 15, 1996, at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City. He was born July 8, 1924, in Ft. Hall, Idaho. He was a veteran of World War II and ser ved in the U.S. Navy.

He worked most of his life in construction and as a ranch hand. He loved cattle, horses, rodeos and the outdoors. Survivors include four sons, Doug Griswold of Arizona, Gregory "Moe" Griswold and Ainor "Corky" Griswold, both of Ft. Washakie, and Avery Perry of Ft. Washakie; five grandchildren, five greatgrandchildren, an uncle of Riverton and numerous other relatives in Idaho, Utah and Wyoming.

Arrangements are in the care of the Hoopes Funeral Home. Douglas C. Howe SARATOGA Funeral services for Douglas C. Howe, two months, will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Garland Bartlett officiating.

Interment will be held following services at the Saratoga Cemetery. Douglas was born on Feb. 18, 1996, in Denver, the son of Paul and Michelle Howe. He was born three months early and his heart was not fully formed. He had surgery to repair his small intestine at three weeks of age and then had heart surgery.

He recovered from that surgery and the family had hope that he would be able to go home soon. His liver then began to fail and he began to bleed internally, which led to his death on May 16, 1996. Survivors include his parents of Saratoga, maternal grandparents Kenny and Kim Foreman of Saratoga, paternal grandparents, Edmond and Susan Howe of Saratoga, maternal great-grandparents Verma and Earnie Foreman of Saratoga and Linda and Leon Gray of North Carolina; paternal great-grandparents Shirley Howe and Jim and Elaine Caswell, all of Saratoga, as well as numerous aunts and uncles. Friends may call at the church in Saratoga on Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time.

Ethel Beatrice Fisher WHEATLAND Funeral services for Ethel Beatrice Fisher, 88, will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Covenant Lutheran Church in Wheatland with Pastor Mark Patzke officiating. Interment will be in the Wheatland Cemetery in Wheatland. Mrs.

Fisher died May 16, 1996, at the Platte County Memorial Nursing Home, where she was a resident. She was born March 9, 1908, in Beresford, S.D., to William M. and Anna (Jacobsen) Hansen. She lived with her family on their farm in Clay County, S.D., and was confirmed at Dahlsburg Lutheran Church. She graduated from University High School and received a bachelor of arts In Memoriam GREEN RIVER Following cremation, memorial services are pending for Owen Todd Oneida, 32, who died at his home in Green River on May 17, 1996.

A longtime resident of Green River, he had been in ill health since Dec. 23, 1995. He was born on Jan. 22, 1964, in Salt Lake City, the son of Henry and Marion Sonja Lukich Oneida. He attended schools in Midvale, Utah and Green River and was a graduate of Green River High School with the class of 1982.

He married the former Karen Nelson in Green River in 1982. He worked as an auto painter for Mike's Auto Body and he was a masonbrick layer, having worked in construction in Utah. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jake and Cody, both of Green River; one daughter, Samantha Oneida of Green River; his mother and stepfather, Marion S. and Eleuterio Guerra of Green River; his father, Henry Oneida of West Jordan, Utah; four brothers, Henry Michael Oneida of Price, Utah, Jeff Oneida of Green River, Curtis Oneida of Midvale, Utah, and Marion Paul Oneida of Jackpot, two sisters, Sophie Denise Pierce of Kearns, Utah and Alicia B.

Guerra of Green River; his father-in-law and mother-in-law of Green River; his maternal grandmother, Sophie Lukich of Sandy, Utah, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Bryant Funeral Home from 4 p.m.

to 6 p.m. on Sunday and from noon to service time on Monday at the First Baptist Church. Mr. Heiser died May 16, 1996, in Billings at Deaconess Hospital. Mr.

Heiser was born March 21, 1917, in Cackle, N.D., to Jacob and Fredricka Heiser. He received his education in Streeter, N.D. He was married to Lydia Lapp on May 8, 1938 in Beaulah, N.D., where he worked for the next 17 years as a mule skinner in the Beulah Lignite Mine. As a family, they moved to Worland in 1953, where he went to work for Montana Dakota Utilities as an operator. He retired in 1981.

The couple worked side by side as residential painters. He continued painting until he was 72. His hobbies included fishing, trapping and working outside in his yard. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Worland, where he served many years as the head usher and as head deacon. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on May 8, 1996.

Survivors include his wife and one son, Larry, of Worland; one daughter, Fairy Jane Gage of Denver; three sisters, Elizabeth Gums and Fredia Jones of Jamestown, N.D., and Martha Reglin of Hoquiam, and three grandchildren.
