a a a a a a a a a a a I I I I I I I I I I I I I I OBITUARIES Saturday, January 31, 2009 A7 Eric Albert Smith RAWLINS Long time Rawlins resident and business owner Eric Albert Smith, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, in Rawlins. He was 85 years old. A memorial LATENTATE service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at 2 p.m. at St Thomas Episcopal Church in Rawlins with JerSMITH ry O'Connell officiating. Eric was born September 13, 1923, in Chipping Norton, England, UK, the son of Albert and Rose (Wallington) Smith.

He graduated from high school in 1941 and attended college for drafting and interior design. Eric enlisted in the British Army in 1942. He obtained the rank of Master Sergeant and was very involved in training troops, for D- Day Invasion of Normandy, during World War II. Eric met his future wife, the love of his life, Jean Neal, in dance class and they married, August 6, 1945, in Kings Sutton, England. He worked as an apprentice carpenter and painter in Banbury, England.

He was an accomplished musician and led his own ten piece big band that played support band, for the Ted Heath Band, considered the "Glenn Miller" of Europe. Eric immigrated with his wife and son Michael to Rock Springs, Wyoming in 1950. Later moving to Rawlins in 1955, with his wife and sons, to start his own contracting business. After fifty Jack L. Wolfe CASPER Jack L.

Wolfe, born Aug. 29, 1921 in Empire, OK passed away on Jan. 29, 2009, at the Central Wyoming Hospice Home. He had been ill for several months, but never lost his sense of humor and his love of life. When he was entering the Wyoming Medical Center in DeWOLFE cember of 2008, the admitting nurse asked him what he had done his response was "I have done everything I ever wanted to do!" At his request, there will be no ser vice.

There will be remembrance held at a later date. He was a member of the US Army, serving as a new recruit trainer during World War II. He was stationed in the Philippines. Before entering the Army, he married Pauline West. They were married for 30 years, but sadly, the marriage ended in divorce.

Eric was an avid fan of the University of Wyoming and Nebraska, football.

He and his wife Jean were season ticket holders for 30 years. Eric enjoyed taking his family to his cabin in Ryan Park. He was an accomplished musician and loved playing the piano, organ, harmonica and accordion. Eric shared music for years with Bill and Lavona Engstrom, during Elks and Shriner functions. He is survived by his sons, Michael Smith of Rawlins and Neil (Butch) Smith and his wife Valorie, of Rock Springs, Wyo; granddaughter, Erika and husband Richard Earl; and great granddaughters, Keely and Bryanna Earl, all of Green River, Wyo; step granddaughters, Annie and Erin Brown, of Idaho Falls, Ind.

Eric was preceded in death, by his wife of 60 years, Jean Smith, on January 12, 2006, and his parents, Rosie and Albert Smith. Cremation has taken Mrs. Wright, 78, died January 28, 2009 at Wyoming Medical Center of old age. She was born February 29, 1931 in Shubert, Nebraska, the daughter of Cecil and Freida (Orr) Dettmann. She was married to Rex Wright, who preceded her in death. They had two sons, Andy, who preceded her and Sammy.

Maxine and Rex lived in Casper 56 years. Maxine was a den mother in Boy Scouts and helped raise five grandchildren, Craig, Chris, Amy, Brittany and Simone. She was mom to many of the neighborhood children and loved by all. She is also survived by great grandchildren, Alaina, Shae, Coty, Marty, Hunter, Carson, Landon, Trewyn, Marcee, Desiree and Chelee.
