OBITUARIES of of of October 17, 2006 Casper Star-Tribune B3 Alfred 'Walter' Cochran CASPER Memorial services for Alfred "Walter" Cochran, 78, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Robinson officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council.

He died Oct. 14, 2006, in Casper at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center. He was born Jan. 5, 1928, in Rawlins, to Walter and Grace Cochran Garber Hickson. He was raised in Casper and attended Willard Elementary, graduating from Natrona County High School in 1946.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1946. While stationed in Europe, he 1 married Beatrice. While in the U.S. Army, he served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam.

He retired in 1972 as a master sergeant. They had one son, Walter Alexander Cochran. He returned, attended Casper College and was employed by Electroduct, retiring in 1993. After retirement, he married Jean Stokes and they were later divorced. COCHRAN His interests included leather working, painting, hunting, fishing, gardening and especially watching his grand-niece, Mariah Ream, grow up.

He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10969 and a past commander and served as chaplain for many years. He was also a member of the NRA and various service-related organizations. Survivors include his niece, Schelly Burnet and her husband, Steve and his grandniece, Mariah Ream, as well as two aunts and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Ray Park, and many comrades and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made through Bustard's Funeral Home to the Old Soldiers Home in Buffalo.

Survivors include his wife of Rock Springs; his mother of Greybull, his two brothers, Kelly Michaelis and wife of Billings, and Barry Michaelis of Greybull; his three sisters, Patty Crumrine and husband of Medford, Kate Ewen and husband of Shell and Sandy Richard and husband of St. George, his father-in-law and motherin-law of Powell; extended family and several nieces and nephews.

He was an avid outMICHAELIS doorsman who enjoyed hunting, fish- Charlotte Salisbury Gros DIXON Services for Charlotte Emma Salisbury Gros, 58, will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at St.

Paul's Episcopal Church in Dixon. A native of the Little Snake River Valley and a resident of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, she died Oct. 10, 2006, in Brazil. She was born April 11, 1948, in Rawlins, to George and Laura Salisbury of the Ladder Ranch near Savery. She was raised on the ranch, where she loved the outdoors and participated with her many friends in 4-H activities.

She was an avid and competitive barrel racer and skilled horsewoman. When she was in kindergarten at the one-room Battle Creek schoolhouse, she locked her teacher in the outhouse, then climbed on her horse and rode home. Her older brother, George, got the blame until she confessed. She graduated from Rowland Hall in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1966 and attended Colorado State University. She was a barrel racer on CSU's Rodeo Team, where she met Marcel Gros of Brazil.

They were married in 1967 and their son was born in 1979. She moved to Brazil in 1972 and lived on remote ranches in the state of Sao Paulo. She returned home to Wyoming for frequent visits, remaining close to her family and friends. ROCK SPRINGS Funeral services for Daniel Paul Michaelis, 54, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct.

19, 2006, at Trinity Lutheran Church in the lower level with Pastor Scott Shields conducting the services. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services. He died Oct. 14, 2006, at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, after being in ill health for the past two years.

He was born Oct. 3, 1952, in Worland, the son of Willis J. and Elsie M. Zimmerman Michaelis. He attended school in Greybull and was a graduate of Greybull High School with the class of 1971.

He graduated from Northwest Community College with a degree in welding technology. He married Holly Neher in Powell on Aug. 19, 1972. He was employed by Jim Bridger Power Plant for 30 She loved Brazil and became completely fluent in Portuguese. In Rio de Janeiro, she had a food business, selling lamb and other food products.

She was active in her book club and in the American Club, where she welcomed those who moved to Brazil. She was an avid bridge player. She was always known for her sense of fun and adventure. She loved to travel, and visited Europe, other parts of South America, and much of the United States. She and her cousin took a boat trip up the Amazon River.

She was an excellent writer and chronicled many of her travels in letters to family and friends. Survivors include her son, Christian Andre Salisbury Gros, of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; her father, Savery; and her sister, Sharon Salisbury O'Toole and husband, Savery; three nieces and two nephews. Her "adopted" daughter, Renata Coehlo, Rio de Janeiro, and her many friends also mourn her loss. She was preceded in death by her mother, Laura Kinne Salisbury, and her brother, George R. Salisbury III.

Kathryn Yvonne Moore COLORADO SPRINGS Graveside services for Kathryn Yvonne Moore, 90, will be held today, Oct. 17, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs.

She died Oct. 13, 2006, in Colorado Springs. She was born Oct. 16, 1915, in Rock Springs, to the late Joseph Evezich and Josephine (Tiljak) Evezich. 18, 2006, at 11 a.m., at the Lyman 1st Ward Chapel, (Lyman Stake Center) in Urie. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Lyman City Cemetery. She died Oct. 14, 2006, after a prolonged battle with cancer.

She was born May 31, 1956, in Lehi, Utah, to Melvin Johnson and Betty Quintana. She enjoyed many activities throughout her life, but most of all she enjoyed riding motorcycles and attending the annual motorcycle rally at Sturgis. She also enjoyed cooking, rock hunting and crafts. Her family looked forward to her annual distribution of Christmas candies that she made from scratch. She was the mother KING of three sons.

She married Terry King on Nov. 15, 1996, in Las Vegas, Nev. She is survived by her husband and sons Chris and his wife, Jason and his wife and Steven; her father, Melvin of Pasco, one sister; Diana Blaney of Mountain View and two brothers, Melvin Johnson of Salt Lake City, and Gary Johnson of Green River and seven grandchildren. Betty Ellen Ainslie Riley Funeral services Ellen Ainslie Riley, be held at 10 a.m. BASIN for Betty 78, will Thursday, Oct.

19, 2006, at the First Baptist Church of Basin with the Rev. Kent Dempsey officiating. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery. A meal will follow the committal services at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Basin. A viewing will be held on Wednesday at the Atwood Family Chapel in Basin from 2 to 7 p.m.

She died peacefully at her home in Basin, surrounded by family, on Oct. 14, 2006. She was born March 31, 1928, in Torrington, the daughter of Jack Colen and Anna Josephine (Carson) Ainslie. She moved to the Big Horn Basin area with her family in 1934 and received her schooling in Basin. She married Marion D.

Riley on July 10, 1944, at Red Lodge, Mont. She wore many hats along with being a wife and mother, working at the Big Horn Bakery, Wheeler's Market, the Wyoming Highway Department as a dispatcher, the Ray Leon Todd RAWLINS Graveside services for Ray Leon Todd, 90, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at the Rawlins Cemetery with Brother Dan Cronk officiating. He died Oct.

15, 2006, at the South Central Rehab Center in Rawlins. He was born March 24, 1916, in Dauthot, the son of Eliza Ann Markum and Thomas Smith Todd. He married Marge Walgren in 1938 in Walden, Colo. Together, they were the parents of three children. He worked and retired from Sinclair Oil, where he had many friends.

He enjoyed model airplanes, model railroads and was a great artist. She also enjoyed doing crafts, cooking, teaching Sunday school, playing cards and playing bingo and gardening. She loved making donuts and sharing them with the community. She made many quilts and gave them away. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Basin.

Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years of Basin; six sons, Orville Riley of Townsend, Ken Riley of Rapid City, S.D., Bob Riley of Riverton, Bruce Riley of Kalispell, Don Riley of Basin and Jack Riley of Cheyenne; one daughter, Carolyn Lewis of Bristol, 13 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, three sisters, Elenora Rice of Casper, Iva Carter of Midland, Texas and Lois Merritt of Thermopolis and numerous nieces and nephews. He was born Feb. 15, 1966, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of David Mark Dunham and Gail (Yandell) Dunham. He was raised in Marshalltown and moved to Casper in 1976. In August 1993, he married Natalie Peters in Casper. He graduated from the discipleship program at the Central Wyoming Rescue Mission.

He enjoyed his children, hunting, fishing, camping, family and friends, church, watching movies and loved animals and boxing with his niece, Katie. He loved the outdoors, es- Philip Charles CASPER Services for Philip Charles Lotz, 47, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center with Bishop Tony Rich officiating. Burial is today at 2 p.m., at Highland Cemetery and friends are welcome to attend if they so choose.

He died Oct. 14, 2006, at home after years of illness. He was born Nov. 13, 1958, in Indio, the son of Charlene Cook Betkijian and Don Betkijian. He was raised in Petaluma, Calif.

He married Trella Wardrip in Big Bear, on Aug. 30, 1989, and they moved to Casper in 1997. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, collecting coins, knives and guns. pecially the east side of Casper Mountain in the Smith Creek area. Survivors include his children, DUNHAM Matthew and Amanda of Iowa; his DUNHAM parents, a sister, Tammy Bornman of Casper; brother, Mark, of San Antonio, Texas; his wife of Casper; grandmother, Kay Yandell, two nieces, two nephews and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ray Yandell and grandparents, Kenny and Lela Dunham. Lotz He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the National Rifle Association. LOTZ Survivors include his LOTZ wife of Casper; daughters, Kylea of Casper and Tonia of Palm Springs, sons, Michael and Steven Lotz, both of Michigan and I three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Theodore Lotz.
